Learning to make Portfolio templates with Flash

Is there some material out there that would help me learn how to use Flash to make a custom Portfolio template?

I have read that you can make Portfolio template with either Flash or Flex 3 and since you need to know ActionScript 3.0 and MXML to use Flex 3 I thought I would start with learning Flash and ActionScript. I haven't looked in the Acrobat 9 Pro Extended help yet to see what is there.

So what kind of learning resources are out there yet if any?

Since you do not have any experience with action scripting it may be better to do your portfolio in acrobat as an interactive presentation. When I graduated from school some years ago I did my portfolio like that and it created great response because everybody could see it and helped me launched my first job. All you have to do is create your template pages in illustrator, indesign or any other layout program, export as pdf and add interactivity in acrobat like transitions, rollover buttons, hidden fields, etc.

If you want to learn flash there are other resources that provide online training for a yearly or monthly fee. But I don't think I can post their websites here. Maybe if you email me privately :)

Thanks for the response. I have done portfolio type set ups in Acrobat before but with the new Portfolio feature and only having 4 choices for layouts I want to get to where I can set up custom layouts. It's the thrill of getting in and doing something more with Acrobat.

On the Adobe Developer Center website, you can learn more about creating custom navigators by downloading and submitting a form.

Thanks. I have never had to request information this way before. It almost seems this is really secret stuff. Anyone can do this but we we're going to make you work hard to find out how to do it.

Anyway I do thank you for the lead. So far you are the only one who has provided some kind of useful answer.

The form mentions that requests from free email addresses (Yahoo, Hotmail, or other such services) are not permitted and will not be considered. You might try a different email address -- if you've previously submitted a request via a free email service.
