Linking information between documents in Portfolio

Thanks for your reply, although I suspected the answer given.

So, the best (only) way to do something such as this would be to "merge or combine" the files into one file? Perhaps create a first page that would contain the necessary form fields, and when filled out, they would complete the other fields within the file that are appropriately named?

If so, this would still be better my current system. I am a funeral director, and we have several forms to complete for various agencies, ie. death certificates, social security, veterans, insurance, radio notices, and much of the information is the same on each form.

Thanks again for the previous answer, and feel free to respond the my comments above. I am new to this with just a little experience, but I find it very fulfilling to complete the task and have a better workflow as a result. I am also learning Illustrator, have some experience in InDesign and more in Photoshop, and I enjoy them all.

Yes, if all the forms are combined into one PDF then any fields with the same name would only need to be filled in once, even if they were on different pages. If that would work for you I think it is the best solution.
