I was just recently upgraded to CS3 with Acrobat 8 in it. Since the upgrade, I can no longer export layout to pdf from Quark to Distiller and get a pdf. Below is the bottom of the log I received from Distiller with my errors. This worked perfectly with Distiller v7 (CS2). I started by loading my joboptions from v7 but although it still works in InDesign, it no longer works in Quark 6. THe thing of it is too... when I print to the Adobe PDF driver, and even though I my setting is Print Quality it compresses the file every time. I have an 18M Quark file and a 1.5M pdf (distiller compression is off). Somehting is wrong. Can you help me?

Error in PDFX4 2007.joboptions:
/CheckCompliance out of range
1) the PDF not confirming to PDF/A due to file attachments and then
2) the error relating to PDF/X-4 (a new standard for live transparent and OCG PDFs) in the same error log?
These are two completely different standards on the same page as such?
I would remove Acrobat and then re-install and patch to 8.1.2 ... It might be also worth leaving the custom install of Distiller job options - just create a new one in Distiller 8 .. it's virtually the same as Distiller 7 (except for extended standards) ..
Hope this helps,
Jon
I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999
