Document could not be printed

I created a 5 page form in MS Word '07, saved it as .pdf, opened the pdf in LifeCycle Designer (ver. 8.2.1.4029.523496) and placed fields and checkboxes.

I save the file as Acrobat Static pdf. All seemingly normal.
I noticed the issue with Reader 9 (ver. 9.4.5), so I used Acrobat 9 Pro (ver. 9.4.5) and got the same results. The form was emailed and that person also experienced the same result:

1. Printing progress bar begins and then accelerates, stopping at 20%.
2. Dialog: "Document could not be printed." I click ok.
3. Dialog: "There were no pages selected to print." I click ok.
4. Dialog: "A drawing error occurred." I click ok.

When I check the printer, only the first page has printed.

I would really like to solve this; I've never had this problem before.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro, Windows

Are you able to print the PDF if you use the "Print as image" command in the print dialog?

Thank you Lori, yes it does. One wrinkle, though. This form gets emailed to customers who fill it out, print it out, manually sign and return to us (Govt. rules). I'd really like to fix this thing so that the unsuspecting masses can use it with ease—the whole point of Adobe.

I can go back and click on *Accept* if we can't go any further.

What option did you use when importing your PDF in Designer? Create an Interactive Form with Fixed Pages or Create an Interactive Form with a Flowable Layout?

Fixed pages. I needed the layout to not move.

Are you using any Master pages features?

No. It was a simple Word document distilled—I am only aware of master pages with FrameMaker.

I did save multiple times. I did leave it open for long periods, although I am quite confident nobody disturbed it. I am suspecting that I may have to remake this; the good news is that all the fields and their placement can be easily copied over to a new fom page by page.

Have you tried doing a Save As?

Save As from LC Designer is: Acrobat (Static) PDF Form (*.pdf)
From Acrobat there are PDF, PDF optimized and EPS. Other than that there are the graphic formats that really aren't going to have the functionality.

Are you suggesting perhaps save as EPS and distill it again?

Try just a Save As from Acrobat. You don't want to save in EPS or distill again because you'll lose all your form fields.

Does this form contain any unique scripted form fields? Have you ever had this problem with a form created in Acrobat instead of LiveCycle Designer?

I did try Save As. I also tried 'printing' it to pdf with the same results.

There's no scripting that I put in and this has never happened with either Acrobat Forms or after it was migrated to LifeCycle. Years ago I used the same thing, but it was in Acrobat—the pallettes, the wizard, everything. Now (for me, at least) it is a separate software.

Would you like to see the form?

There doesn'e seem to be a way of attaching a file within the contact app.

Did you try sending me the email? If not, try again and when I reply you can attach the sample. Or, you can send it to me via Adobe SendNow.

I get the same error message using Adobe X Pro or trying to print any document that was created with Adobe X Pro. We have HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus all in ones.

We finally got fed up, uninstalled Adobe X and reinstalled Adobe 9 Pro. Everything works fine unless we get a scan from someone that scanned in Adobe X! Our messages are the same as the ones listed above. We have this issue on 2 PC's running Windows 7.
