Hello Acrobat Users -
running x64 vista buisness - adobe acrobat pro extended 9 ( updated to 9.2 today) and i´m having problems with the Distiller (updated to 9.2 today) and the Adobe PDF printer.

neither the distiller or the A.PDg printer can read the xx.joboptions files stored in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings

the distiller start with this message in the process window:
Adobe PDF Settings file read error in High Quality Print.joboptions:
general parser failureAdobe PDF Settings file read error in Oversized Pages.joboptions:
general parser failureAdobe PDF Settings file read error in PDFA1b 2005 CMYK.joboptions:

the dropdown menu in the Destiller is empty at start up.

when trying to add setting through the settings menu - i get an alert:
"Adobe PDF settings file read error in: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\standard.joboptions"

trying to print via adobe pdf only results in a boingggg + error message log:
Adobe PDF Settings file read error in :
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\Standard.joboptions

i had tried to delete the .joboptions, repair acrobate pro entended installation, change the ownership of the files, and so on - and i have administrators rights on my vista user account - until now no results - the same errors. only a month with errors.

Do somebody have any idea to help me? would be very thankful -

Was it working fine earlier?
Repair should work, make sure that the joboptions files are present after running repair.

Have you tried to manually import them into Distiller? Open Distiller and then go to Settings > Add Adobe PDF Settings.

Thanks for looking at my post -
hitanand:- hi - no it never worked since i installed Acrobat Pro Extended on on this 2 month old Vista 64bit machine.
Repair left the xxxx.jobsettings files in the same folder - after repaier no change.

Ikassuha: - hi- yes i have tried manually import (add) of , change ( edit) of settings - but i get these messages described above.

when you look at the files in the folder - they are like "greyed out" - and have read only and hidden in the properties.

I have also tried to copy the settings folder to the desktop, remove the read only and hidden for folder and files in the properties - then tried to add them - and still i get the message alert:

"Adobe PDF Settings file read error in :
C:\Users\mads madsen\Desktop\Settings\Standard.joboptions

?

check your decimal separator
1. Open Control Panel/"Regional and Language Settings" dialog
2. Click the "Customize" button on "Regional Options" tab
3. Choose period as "Decimal Symbol". Press OK, Apply
4. Launch Distiller

great. have of course set the decimal to "comma" due to in german math & econiomics!
jubiiiieee.

no longer need to USB-Stick-Beam the stuff to my old xp machine to distillation.
