I've recently upgraded to Acrobat v8 Pro. I've noticed that if I have any transparent objects in my document, I get unexpected results when printing to our Canon 1180 CLC. This printer is driven by the Canon Z800 RIP. What happens is everything on the page appears ghosted back to perhaps a 5% value. I can get around it by flattening the page, but this is an extra step that I would like to avoid. Any suggestions?
You might try contacting Canon to see if they have an upgrade available for you RIP (I know, it may be pricey). If that's not an option, you'll have to flatten the transparency. You can do this in a batch using the Preflight tools to create a Droplet.
