I'm using Acrobat Prof 8.1 on Vista. Mostly, the Adobe PDF printer works fine. But it fails for one of my applications (WinFinans, a 10 years old accounting application). When I print from this application, I get a brief message that Adobe PDF is printing to desktop/*.pdf. But I never get to the screen to enter a file name. No file pdf file is created. The applications works fine with the Adobe PDF printer on Win XP2, so the problem is specific for Vista. The application prints OK to my physical printer, but if I try other virtual printers (like Microsoft Office Document Image Writer), I get the same behaviour as for the Acrobat printer. So it seems to be a general problem of the redirection to virtual printers that doesn't work on Vista as before on XP2. I have tried to run my application in several versions of compatibility mode, but that doesn't make any difference. Of course, you might say that this is a Windows Vista problem or a problem with my legacy application, but as Acrobat is the most important virtual printer around, I suppose you have an interest in assuring that the Acrobat printer works with all applications, even old ones. So hoping for a tip that can lead me towards a solution. /Peter
