Printing in mono only

A client of mine gets lots of pdf files attached to e-mails and just prints them out. This is done in colour which is expensive. Is there a way to print pdf files out in mono always? How is it done?

Since printing in Black & White or Color is a funciton entirely dependent on the attached printer's capabilities, one will have to click on the "Properties" button next tot he printer name on "Print" User Interface and make the adjustment on the printer's UI. If your user has version 6 or above, you might be able to create a custom menu entry that uses the "PrintParams" object and override the color profile and force it to "mon". Be fore warned that the "PrintParms" object does not always work as docuemnted or repeatedly work the same after the first use.

The "PrintParams" object does not sound very secure if it does not always work the same after first use.
I realise that printing and the default printer is set by the OS. I'm surprised that no one has written a program that can set the default printer for each application....
