Red Tint With Pro 7 or 8

Good Morning Everyone,

I am printing a few graphic-heavy PDF's to a HP color printer. All of the graphics have a red tint and it is applied to the entire image box, not just the image itself. The printer seems okay, full of color cartridges, and there are no custom settings in the Control Panel and it still appears with that red tint.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Rich in Saint Paul

Hey there,

I am experiencing the same problem however, I have found a temporary solution. If you distill your files using the PDF/X-1a:2001 preset in Distiller the prints come out fine. Although I would appreciate any other suggestions others might have as we only use our HP printer for quick low resolution prints and the X-1a solution does not offer the speed.

These are documents that are created by another Division so it's nothing I can immediately Distill and turn it around. I figure that there must be a something in the document properties because it only happens with this singlular machine and none of the others on the floor.

Adobe's web page says this is a bug that can be fixed with Acrobat 8.1. That solution didn't work for me, but when I selected "Advanced" from the print page and then selected the "Print as Image" box, it printed exactly as I wanted it to. No more red.
