Slow Printing

Hi!
I have got Adobe Standard 7.0.9 running on Win XP SP2 with all the relevant updates. When I open up a PDF document go to File-Print it takes a while for the printer menu to come up and than to select the correct printer it takes quite some time. I have removed the preferences folder, did a repair on the install but that hasn't helped.
The only way to get it working (which i have tried but it reverts back after few days)is to recreate the whole user profile and because the PC has got PGP software and SAGE it requires lot of time to do this. I am sure there is a better way to resolve this. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Do you see this same delay when printing from other applications - or only Acrobat Standard?

Thanks for responding. This happens only from Acrobat, printing from other applications is normal.

I have encountered this issue many times, and have resolved it through the following steps:

Close Adobe Acrobat

Control Panel > Printers and FaxesRight-click on Adobe PDF printer (which should have been installed with Acrobat software), and select "Set as Default Printer"

Open Adobe Acrobat, and attempt to print. The Print Properties dialogue box should open up almost immediately

Close Adobe Acrobat, and set your original printer back to the Default Printer

I have recently installed Acrobat 9 pro and the printing of downloaded pdf's is painfully slow. About 1/2 hour to print an 8 page downloaded document. Adobe the only application affected, and the equipment is an HP Laserjet 3055 and a Macintosh computer. Any help would be appreciated.

I have this same issue. It takes around 25 seconds for the print dialogue box to pop up. I just upgraded to Acrobat Pro 9. I do not have this issue printing from any other program.
