My wife just installed Reader V 8.0 at work. They have 2 networked printers. She can print to both the Lexmark and the HP from MS-Word etc... She CAN print to the Lexmark from the Read but NOT to the HP from the reader. We have tried to go in to the advanced and network to connect to the HP however, we get an error about connecting to the printer. We have a connection from the control panel, we have a connection from All of the other programs, just not from the Reader8. Any suggestions? She did have V7 on the computer; however, that was uninstalled FIRST then V8 was installed.

My Product Information:
Reader 8, Windows

First check to see if an updated printer driver exists on the HP Web site. Download and install any new drivers.

When you open the Print dialog box do you see the printer listed in the Name drop down menu? Try selecting the printer in the Name drop down menu and click Properties. Double check the page properties and make sure the proper settings are selected for your paper size and orientation and click OK.

In the Print dialog box you should see a page preview of the first page in a document. Make sure the Page Setup settings are correct and the Page Preview appears, then try to print. If you don't see a page preview, double check the General Preferences and make sure a checkmark appears where you see Show page thumbnails in Print dialog.

If you still expereince problems, post another question and let us know if the problem persists.

Turns out that when the reader was trying to print it had the wrong printer name in the list. When we appended the the "\\servername\" to the printer name then the document printed like normal. The reason for the update from V7 to V8 was because they lost the ability to print from V7 to the HP-Printer. A second workstation started having the same issue with V7, once again appeneding the server's name to the HP-Printer fixed the issue.
So simple, yet not listed in any of the self-help or FAQ's. Discovered this just by chance. Noted that this was the difference between the Lexmark and the HP printer names in the dropdown list.
