Hi all, I have a problem with Acrobat 8 and have found no solution anywhere else so I am hoping the community here can help!

I would like to add a watermark to a set of pdf documents which will only appear when the document is printed.

I have created the watermark (text watermark only) and in the appearances option it is set to view when print but not to view when on screen.

Seems to work OK and when I go to print the watermark is showing on the thumbnail view of the document you get in the print dialogue box.

But, the watermarks will not print when I send to the printer. I have tried just about everything I can think of and I am now tearing my hair out in frustration.

I am using Acrobat 8 professional on Vista Business.

Good point - apologies.

OK, I wanted to batch process several thousand .pdf files to add a watermark which would only view on Print, not on screen.

I created the watermark and saved it.

I then created a Batch process to add a watermark and I chose the watermark I had previously saved.

Running this batch process, it didn't work. The watermark would show on the document in the thumbnail preview in the Print dialog box but wouldn't print on the document.

However, if I create a batch process and instead of using a previously saved watermark, I create the watermark I want and set it to view on print, it works fine.

Why this should be I have no idea. Seems fairly random to be honest.
