If a user has an Acrobat 8 viewer or earlier and a Flash player will they be able to read Flash files contained in Acrobat 9?
If this works only in certain cases what are the limitations?
What happens if somebody tries to view Acrobat 9 with Flash in a non-Acrobat 9 viewer?
Thanks.

When you embed Flash into a PDF and open that file in a previous version of Acrobat, you will see a message alerting you that the file can't be played in the version (plus, there is a link to the newest version of Reader).
However, you may use the Movie tool instead of the Flash tool to embed the file. In that case, Acrobat and Reader previous to 9 can play object. The only caveat is that the movie will be played by an external player such as QuickTime—as it did with previous versions or Acrobat.
