Hi there,
Using Acrobat 8 Professional, I'm trying to insert a .MOV file into my PDF (so it's compatible on PCs & MACs) and it worked great at first but then my students tried it for their projects and they're getting some weird results. The movie either doesn't work OR the sound plays but the movie doesn't, any ideas why?
We converted our movies to .WMV (we're on PCs but they all have Quicktime installed) and everything works great now. Why doesn't the .MOV work all of a sudden?
Thanks,
Chrissy
This is the main reason that Adobe moved to embedding Flash into Acrobat 9, there is no longer any requirement on the user/viewers side except for Reader 9 (or later). The Flash runtime is part of Acrobat/Reader and any Richmedia (multimedia) content created in Acrobat 9 using the Flash/Video tools will play back on any Windows or Mac in Reader 9. I am not trying to talk you into an upgrade, just letting you know that your situation is a large reason for the new method of embedding video (Note: the method available in Acrobat 8 is still available/accessible in Acrobat 9).
