I have made a pdf document with hotspot buttons. The problem is when you open the document a hand with a downward arrow appears over the non-hotspot areas and allows you to click anywhere in the document. It seems that the links start to cycle thru from first to last. How do I disable this hand and allow only my hotspots to activate the links?

How did you create these "hot spots" as a "button" form field or an "Article"?

OK. but have you created or does the PDF have any "Article" objects within the PDF?

The article object causes the "Hand" to get the downward arrow indictating one in an article and the movement will be through the article in the secquence the areas were created.

not on purpose, but I kind of was thinking on the same lines as you. How can I disengage the article tools from the links?

I figured it out... wheww. The problem was only happening in full screen mode so I went and started poking around with the preference settings. There was a box checked that in full screen mode left click takes you back a page and right click takes you fwd a page.

Moving on from the same problem, I have created a pdf that we want to distribute on CD. But as this 'Left Click' function in fullscreen mode is a default setting, when people open the pdf for the first time the left click is active. Is there a way to turn it off so that it over rides the default setting.

Use the following JavaScript in the initial page's Page Open action or in a document-level JavaScript:

app.fs.clickAdvances = false;
