When I generate a 3d PDF using one of my Inventor assembly models, I notice that a right-click will allow the PDF recipient to export the data as a STEP or IGES file if he/she happens to have more than just Adobe Reader. How can I disable this unintended capability to protect my 3d data?

The Export Data option on the context menu is only available if the PDF is unsecured, and if the 3D data is stored in PRC format. If you translate your model into polygon meshes and import it as a U3D file that option goes away and leaves just the "Open in 3D Reviewer" option (plus you can deliberately reduce the mesh accuracy to make the model of less value). however to get rid of the "Open in" option without securing the PDF (or to keep it gone if someone removes your security) requires some alchemy.

I've posted a quick tutorial explaining how to get rid of both the context menu options and stop the file opening in 3D Reviewer:

Thanks for the security workaround. Much appreciated.
