Hello All,

I want to change the Login Name: under Edit-Preferences-Identity. I want to change this field so it is blank. I have the box un-checked that says "Always use Login-name for Author name. I do not want an author on my documents. I just want to get rid of the name in Login Name: and have it blank. I do Pdf's for a scrapbooking group and prefer not to have my name all over the internet.

Thanks Karen

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Windows

You can not, that is an OS system set value when the user logs in.

You can change the 'author' of the PDF by editing the PDF's properties or redacting the meta data of the PDF.

So it can be changed in Windows XP? I do not use the name on the pdf as my Login name: Is there any way to find out where it picks up this name from?

When you first turned on your computer when it was new, you created a Userid for that system. This is the value Acrobat/Reader is picking up as the 'userid'. If you want to change it at the operating system level, you need to create a new userid on your system and the use that userid when you create you PDFs.

Or you can change the meta data 'author' field of the PDF by changing the PDF's properties, you need to select the menu item 'file', then the 'Properties' option. You can then change the 'author' field.

By far the easier way is to change the 'author' field of the PDF.
