I've made a .pdf in Acrobat with a signature line for customers to sign before submitting to me. It works fine with me when I send it to myself but when I send it to someone with Reader it does not allow the user to enter a signature. I've checked the security for the document and on the original on my machine it reads "signing: allowed" but when I check the form on another computer with only Reader it says "signing: not allowed"

How can I allow users with Reader to sign the document?

many thanks!!

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

You need to apply usage rights, also known as Reader-enabling, in order for Reader users to use digital signatures. Although Acrobat 9 Standard allows you to set some usage rights, the digital signature right is not one of them. You will need Acrobat Pro for that.

To apply usage rights with Acrobat Pro, select the "Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader" menu item.If you do this, you need to understand the important licensing restrictions, which Acrobat does next to nothing to inform you about. In short, if you deploy the form to more than 500 recipients, you may use information from no more than 500 returned forms, including hardcopies. If fewer than 500 recipients, there is no limit. See section 15.12 of the Acrobat 9 Pro license agreement (somewhere on your hard drive or Adobe's web site) for more details.

That's very odd. Did you create the form in Acrobat or LiveCycle Designer. Can you provide a link to a sample?
