I will distribute a PDF from an insecure location. I want the PDF to require a password to be able to open it.

Once successfully opened, I don't want the PDF to ever require a password again as it is a nuisance. The security can manually be removed, but I do not want my customers to have to do this work each time. Is it possible to accomplish this automatically in my PDFs?

I don't think so... But why not simply place a non-secured PDF in a secured location?
That way your clients will just need to login once to the site in order to download the file, but then can use it without any more restrictions.

Public large file email sending solutions like yousendit.com are regularly used, which is the reason for the 1 time password requirement. (the service itself would have access to the pdf even if they provide password protected download services, which I would like to avoid)

I had hoped that a small Advanced->Document Processing->Document Javascript could remove the security and save the PDF when it was successfully opened for the first time, but I was not able to figure out how to do that.
