How to use Acrobat XI on touch devices

Have you ever needed to use Acrobat XI with only a touch device like an iPad handy?

Check out the following 5 steps to see how you can use Acrobat or Adobe Reader XI with a program like the Citrix Receiver mobile app. on the iPad.

  1. Using a program like the Citrix Receiver mobile app, tap to launch Acrobat XI on the iPad.
    Acrobat XI is installed on a centrally hosted and managed Citrix XenApp server.
  2. Open a virtual Windows desktop...
    and tap to open Acrobat XI.
    You can also run Acrobat XI Pro and Adobe Reader XI in this configuration.
  3. When you open a PDF file, Acrobat XI detects that you are using a touch- enabled device, and prompts you with a pop-up at the bottom. Tap the prompt.
    The new Touch Mode capability spaces out the icons on the toolbar, panels, and increases the text size of menus.

  5. The Page Thumbnails can be used to navigate and can also be scrolled with a finger swipe.
    You can also swipe a page to move quickly through the document or pinch to zoom.

Hi Tim Lacey,

Try changing the Document Mode from Continuous to Single Page to get the right to left swipe.

tutorial doesn’t cover swiping to turn pages.  I’ve noticed that swiping left to right will turn pages back, but I can’t swipe right to left to turn pages forward?  Why is that?
