Ali HanyalogluSeptember 20, 2012

Wouldn't it be more efficient to open and work with PDF files stored in SharePoint and Office 365 as easily as from your local drive?

Follow these 7 easy steps to access files from SharePoint or Office 365 using Acrobat or Adobe Reader XI.

  1. Choose File > Open or click Open from the welcome screen.
  2. Click Open from Online Account and select New Account...
  3. Choose your online service, enter the web address to the site, then click Continue.
  4. Once you are logged in to your online account, navigate to the library where your PDF file is stored.
  5. Select the PDF file you want to use and click Open.
  6. Click Check Out & Open to open the file and lock it online to prevent editing by others.
  7. When you’re finished, choose File > SharePoint/ Office 365 Server. Click Check In to upload your edited file and unlock it.

Hi Daniel A. Galant,

Yes, this applies specifically to Adobe Reader XI as well as Acrobat XI.
You can check files in/out of SharePoint.
Thanks,
Lori

Unfortunately this does not apply to reader, even though the title claims it does.

Hi Even,

When you do to distribute the form, click Distribute from under the Forms pane, and then select Internal Server, and click Continue. Provide the path to the URL to your SharePoint workspace. Follow the onscreen instructions to post the form. This will allow you to gather your form responses in SharePoint.

Thanks,
Lori

Very informative - happy to be using Office 365 now - on both Mac and Windows OS’s.
