Acrobat 8.1: Can't convert web page from IE

I got this error message "Could not access acrobat's web capture facility. Acrobat could be busy or waiting for input." when I click the "Convert web page to PDF..." button on IE.

I have Acrobat 8.1 running on Vista 32-bit, with the latest Adobe updates. It used to work without any error message, but after uninstall then reinstall the program, it doesn't work anymore

PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you tried running the Help --> Repair Acrobat Installation command?
Can you Create PDF from web page from within Acrobat? If so, check to make sure the add-ins for Acrobat are enabled in Internet Explorer.

Are you trying to convert an "httpS://" URI?

Or are there some special web features on the site you are trying to convert.?

Yes, I have tried to repair and re-install the acrobat a couple times, but it didn't solve the problem.

I am able to "Create PDF from web page" from within Acrobat, and I discovered that I am able to use the "Convert current web page to PDF" button on Firebox... seems like only the IE is giving me the error: "Could not access acrobat's web capture facility. Acrobat could be busy or waiting for input."

I also checked the add-ons in IE, and Adobe PDF is enabled.

no, it happens to even trying to convert google.com to PDF... and it only happens in IE...

Any ideas why it fails to work in Internet Explorer?

Do you get the same error in IE when you right-click on a web page to capture it? What add-ons for Acrobat are listed in Internet Explorer?

"Could not access Acrobat's web capture facility"... I'm having the same indentical problems with IE 7 on Vista as "meeowmeeow ". PDF toolbar and add-ins are all enabled and not grayed out. Clicking them produces no results. Same with right-clicking on any web page.

Repair installation does not help.

I can only convert web pages to PDF from within Acrobat

Is this a Vista bug / IE bug/ or Acrobat 8 Pro bug?

Thanks for anyone's help on this matter.

Try updating to version 8.1.2.

Same problem. None of the posted solutions have worked for me.
Any more ideas?

I was just curious if anyone has come up with a solution for this issue. I have a user who is getting the same message when she tries to convert a web page.

I was able to have the user start using a work around that seems to be working though:

In IE, go to the web page that you want to convert and then go to File>Print and select the Acrobat Printer. This will convert the page to a PDF.

Do you have any other versions of Acrobat and/or Reader also installed on your system?

I just installed Reader 9.0 on Win Vista that already had Acrobat Pro 8.1.2.

Suddenly, I get the same error reported in this thread!

I uninstalled 9.0 and repaired 8.1.2. Once I reboot I will know more and report back here

Between Acrobat and Reader, only one application can be launched at a time. In case you have both Acrobat and Reader installed and you are trying to use this feature, make sure that Reader (Acrord32.exe in task manager) is closed.

Just the same issue in Wista environment, don't find other solution than Firefox. There is not hotkey to convert web page, but print http as pdf has no problem. You can have both IE and Firefox installed on one PC, depends only on your actual decision, which one to use.
