How to create mobile-ready PDF files with Acrobat XI Pro

You’ll need to install the latest version of Adobe Mobile Reader to comment on your PDF with these type of devices.

The problem may have more to do with the particular fill & sign app you’re using and not necessarily the form. What happens when you view the form using the Adobe Reader mobile app?

is there a way to do this with acrobat 8? I downloaded the form to my phone and used a pdf fill and sign app but the fields are not all displaying properly. Thanks

You would need to write a custom JavaScript to do this. Or, you could purchase an existing script such as this:

This sort of sounds like a problem I’ve seen when folks fill out a form using Mac Preview and the form field information disappears. Make sure everyone is using the Adobe Mobile Reader when filling out the form.

Most of the video tutorials on the site have transcripts. What type of mobile device were you attempting to view the tutorial on? It’s just a MP4 video hosted on Adobe TV.

I was glad this tutorial had a transcript and that others wrote out the steps for those who didn’t notice the transcript link. The irony is that the video wouldn’t play on my mobile device.

What a PITA to have to watch a Video for 5 easy stages…

Here’s the simple WRITTEN instructions:

1)Open the ‘Action Wizard; in the ‘Tools’ pane and click ‘Optimize for Web and Mobile’.
2) Click ‘Add Files’ and then locate and select the file(s) you want to process.
3) Click ‘Start’
4) Adobe XI Pro processes each action in order, and shows a checkmark when complete.
5) Choose a name and storage location for the processed file.

There… quicker to read (and almost to type) than watch video.

This just made my job much easier!  Now my students can receive all of the course material in adobe format on mobile devices.
