How to distribute PDF forms via email using Acrobat XI

Hi Jim,

Did you reader-enable or apply any security to the form? As part of the Distribution process, the form will automatically get reader-enabled so you don’t need to do that first.

I have a form ready to distribute, but the Distribute button is disabled.  Am I missing something?

I’m with Karen Manning, the title needs to be changed to just “Learn how to send PDF forms in Acrobat XI via email.”  Probably should update the video as well since FormsCentral is no more.

You can also keep copies of the final filled out forms and not just the form data. Sometimes people need to look at the data separately in a program like Excel.

Hi Stephanie,

In forms mode, select all the forms fields you need to move by using a bounding box. Then, hold down the shift key to keep them aligned when moving.

I have an already created form and I need to insert some additional fields into the middle.  Can I do this and automatically move everything down?

Hi Colleen Murin,

You can change the email address under Edit > Preferences > Identity before sending the form out using the Distribute command. (Just don’t forget to change it back).

In previous versions you used to be able to select a different email address to receive the ‘completed and submitted’ form.  Can I still do this in XI?

If you’re using Acrobat and not just the free Reader and you still cannot see the Forms panel then you can access it under the View > Tools > Form menu.

This tutorial is incomplete, it only speaks to email it does not do thru the server process, yet the title lists the additional options

When viewing the form on a portable device (i.e. iphone), the information within the form fields/boxes is not visible?? Is there a way of fixing this so the completed form can be viewed on a portable device?  Or is this not possible?

Thank you this appears to be a fast and easy way to distribute PDF’s.

How does Acrobat XI handle a single form that has multiple signatures to complete an approval process?

Much more productive to use Acrobat XI to create and distribute your forms.

For using this one does need to copy all the mail-ids from gmail and then paste in it..can the gmail contacts be added to it directly..any other way?

A agree with Michelle Martin. The only way I can see it being easier is if you already have it open. I think you would just be able to attach it to your emails.

With Acrobat XI and FormsCentral, distributing PDF forms has never been easier. I am looking forward to integrating this new process.

It’s the best offline software to convert pdf to other formats.

I really like the program forms, saves us time and is very easy to use.

I always enjoyed PDF documents, easy to use and great way to save paper.

I don’t see the advantage to distributing a form this way over just sending it as an attachment to an email.  Is it more secure this way?

It seems you use (and need to use) passwords or other security wherever you are. Having the ability to use passwords in PDF form distribution just makes good sense.

Does FormsCentral create accessible forms?

I’ve tried distribution before and had some difficulties. This video really breaks it down and gets to the meat of the issues. Thanks.

No more digging browsers to let the world know what you are reading. Acrobat XI has blown my mind. It’s an all in one package B-)

Im all about networking. This video explains how to distribute a PDF in a very simple and fast way.

I like the password privacy aspect when working with gmail, and I assume it’s the same with most other web mails, very convenient.

Much easier and simpler for me to send emails with this method.
